Why work for The Midland Academies Trust?

We are a close family of schools united with the common purpose of providing the best possible education for the young people in our care. Joining any of our academies means you become part of this family and enjoy all the benefits of our unique way of working.

We believe that working in close collaboration across the Trust is the key to sustainable workload and job satisfaction. Through doing this, we can eliminate duplicated effort and free up time for essential work, so that our staff are focused on the core business of supporting or delivering high quality education to all 3200 pupils in our care - every lesson, every day.

Our academies are located close to each other, so opportunities for face-to-face networking and interaction are common. Our teaching staff work as part of a subject community - four teams working together to share workload on curriculum, assessment, resourcing and professional learning. Our support staff teams work together sharing best practice and supporting each other. We are looking for people who recognise the value of this approach and who are open to collaboration.

Our staff are our most valued resource - we recognise that a great education is built upon great lessons, and our efforts are focused around making it as easy as possible for every lesson to be great. We invest time and resource into building staff capacity - every staff conference (INSET day) has time for role-specific (and for teachers, subject -specific) training and networking. If you have ambitions to progress within your chosen career path, we will do what we can to support you.

Our pupils speak warmly about our staff and value the efforts we make on their behalf. They recognise that we set high expectations for them, both in terms of what they are learning and in their personal responsibilities as part of our learning community. Like our staff, they also benefit from being part of our Trust family, with access to cross Trust co-curricular opportunities and enrichment.

Our place in the heart of the communities we serve is an important one, and we take this responsibility seriously. We listen closely to what our communities tell us and seek to make improvements based upon this feedback. We believe that our academies have a duty to contribute to the community beyond the school gates, and welcome new staff who share this commitment and can help us grow our offer.

Our current vacancies are listed in this section, and we invite you to apply if the vision we outline here is one you share. Please feel free to arrange a visit to any of our academies to see this vision in operation as part of your application process.
